We are delighted to announce that the first phase of Habitat First Group's Silverlake Development in Dorset has secured a Building with Nature Full Award (Excellent).  Biodiversity by Design led the ecological planning for this large scale habitat restoration scheme linked to rural and holiday housing.

Biodiversity by Design advise on luxury hotel development in Norway

Biodiversity by Design working in close collaboration with Studio Engleback provided a clear environmental framework for the development of a new luxury hotel north of the Arctic Circle in Finnmark, Norway.  The work explored both the sensitivities and opportunities presented by the natural world, both terrestrial and marine.

Dr Mike Wells is appointed to the South West Design Review Panel

Mike Wells, Founding Director, who serves on the UK Design Council as Built Environment Expert and on the Bristol Urban Design Forum has just been appointed to the South West Design Review Panel. The panel is a proven mechanism for raising design standards. Established in 2005, SWDRP is based at 'Creating Excellence', the South West member of the England-wide Design Network. The panel is chaired by Professor Peter Clegg (Architect and Royal Designer For Industry) and reviews development projects from all localities within the South West, providing 'independent, multi-disciplinary, expert advice – a candid friend, supporting whenever we can, seeking explanations, discussing options, identifying opportunities, and sometimes calling for a rethink'.
