Biodiversity by Design provides Ecological Design inputs to Sentosa 2030

23/08/2019

The practice is proud at last to be able to announce its involvement over the past two years with the delivery of the 2030 Masterplan for Sentosa island and its surrounds in Singapore on behalf of the Singapore Government as part of the Greater Southern Waterfront Project. Stretching from Gardens by the Bay East area to Pasir Panjang, the GSW covers 30km of Singapore's southern coastline. With 2,000 hectares of land, its overall area is six times the size of Marina Bay, and includes PSA city terminals at Tanjong Pagar, Keppel, Brani and Pasir Panjang.

The Practice was lead ecological design and assessment advisor to the project.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong stated the governments intention to revitalise Sentosa's beach areas and expand its nature and heritage trails as well as plans to improve Singapore's greenery by linking the GSW with the surrounding green areas.  "With a new green heart at the centre, Singapore will be even more of a City in a Garden," he said.
