Oliver co-founded Biodiversity by Design with Dr Mike Wells in 2006 with the aim of focusing on creative biodiversity enhancement within development. After a decade as co-director, Oliver moved to Cornwall for personal reasons. He is now is retained as an honoured Affiliate of the practice.
Oliver's key interests lie in applying a quantitative approach to the assessment and design of biodiverse landscapes.
Oliver has extensive experience in survey design, interpretation of ecological survey data, statistical analysis of complex and spatial data sets, ecological masterplanning, enhancement and mitigation design and implementation, and large-scale Ecological Impact Assessment. His expertise includes botanical survey (lowlands), habitat creation and management for a variety of lowland and upland habitats, protected species licensing, EMPs and CEMPs and ecological elements of BREEAM/Code for Sustainable Homes assessments.
Oliver's project experience includes large and small scale road schemes (UK and overseas), residential/commercial/retail developments (urban redevelopment and greenﬁeld sites), river edge restoration, wind farms, MOD projects and production of guidance documents.
